I'll be hosting a Hammer-In at my Place in Milford, IL on Saturday September 24th. Right now it is in the planning stages and I'm looking for people interested in giving demo's. Anyone interested please let me know.

Thanks for your time,
Brent

wow been waiting for this for a long time!!!
I am in washington by peoria.
hopefully I can make it.

Great! My place is about 8 Miles south of US 24 and Route 1. I'm, out in the country, no neighbors. I've been in contact with Bob Rossdeutscher about coming down. There is a farrier that lives about a mile over that is interested in giving a tong forging demo.

So, who's going? I think I might do a demo on wire inlay. I'm not the best one out there to do this but I know the basics and I do OK. Who else!? Remember you don't have to forge to contribute or show up. These are for and by knifemakers in all their many forms. Lets also remember, we are all knife grinders when it comes right down to it, (he says in his best preacher voice) some just put in a little extra work before hand. And I for one would STILL like to see Mike Kanter at one of these talking about the way he does handles. How 'bout it Mike? (as he throws the gauntlet on the ground)

Sounds like something I might be able to attend(as a spectator only, of course). :)

Where, exactly, is Milford?

Where, exactly, is Milford?

About 60 miles Northeast of Champaign. Real small town of about 1700 people. But I live out in the country, about 1.5 acre yard, got room for setting up tents if anyone wants to camp overnite.

Don't have any water fountains though Danbo ;)

Also, if there is enough interest, I will pick up a truckload of coal to have for sale.

Sounds like lunch will be Ham and Beans and Cornbread and maybe some Cobbler for dessert.

Finally got my kids going to school, now I can get back to planning this get- together. This event isn't just for makers that forge blades or even for makers in general. Any Maker, Collector, Enthusiast, Newbie is welcome, it's all about getting together and sharing knowledge and resources and desire to shape steel!! If you've never made a knife show up and ask a lot of questions, we don't bite (at least not all of us ;) ). If you've made a bunch of knives come and show off your stuff!!

Hope to see you there
