Anyone ever bought a Central Machinery Drill Press from Harbor Freight? I was wondering about their reliability. they have a 20" Production Model Floor Drill Press on Sale for 299.99 regular 459.99 at the store by my house. Has a 3/4" chuck and a 1.5 HP motor. Sounds like a great Deal to me, minus the fact that I have never bought power tools from them before.

any experiences?

They're fine to deal with, plus they pay the freight on orders of $50.00 or more. That's quite a savings in this day of high freight bills.
They carry a lot of spare parts, and if they don't have it, you can usually sub from somewhere else. Most of these tools are made in the same factory in Taiwan, just painted different colors for the different distributors. Or sometimes it's just different decals.

Do you need a drill press that big? The floor model 16 speed for about $199.00 is a pretty good unit, and will save you some $$.

I have the one Mike Hull mentioned. Just fine by me. I use it alot.

I did have to replace the chuck tho. Not because of a flaw in the machine, but because of a flaw in my brain. They really aren't built for milling:footinmou

I've got one of those 16" floor models. I like it and it comes on sale every other month or so. It's a bugger to get down to the basement in one box though. I ended up taking a part down at a time.

I've got that floor model, I've had it for about 7-8 years and it still works great. Just picked up a little bench top from them for $40.00 last week. Can't beat it, drills straight and holds up well.
