Looking to see if there is anyone in the Central Missouri area that would be interested in showing the ropes to someone new in regards to wilderness and survival skills. I have done a lot of hiking in the past and some camping but looking to get back into it more on the wilderness skills side of it.

Thanks for the info. I checked out a lot of the videos on you tube and it looks like a good time. Do you have any information on when the next time they are getting together.

I think I aM going to host another meet in Sept or Oct. It will be in IA and about a 5 hr dive from your area. Here are some vids of the last IA hike.

Im in Sedalia. I go to Columbia frequently. You should check out Three Creeks area, south of Columbia. Its a nice place to get out and hike, camp, and practice skills. One of my favorite places to mountain bike too, cause its such a low kew place....Not alot of people. Ive NEVER seen a soul out there. Just pay attention to the hunting seasons. I might be free to meet up for a camp sometime too if you want. Not sure how much I can teach ya, but we can do the bowdrill, and some plants, and some other stuff. I work ambulance so I could teach ya some first aid stuff too. If you need some PSK stuff, Ive got a ton of stuff you can raid. Fatwood, pj cotton, fishing stuff, cordage...Even have the stuff to make an alcohol stove if ya want.

Shoot me an email if ya want cavalryjake@yahoo.com

I have been out to rock bridge state park several times in the past hiking with the kids and had a lot. Haven't really checked out the whole area but i'm sure it would be a good place to go.
