Hello folks!

Recently, I've been interested in non-steel blade materials, Titanium alloys in particular, and someone told me about the Cera-Titan Boker uses. I went on the Boker's website in order to read about it and I noticed that this material is mostly used on kitchen knives and some folders.

I would like to know if Cera-Titan could be used in big choppers or any other kind of heavy-use/tactical knives.

I would also like to know how it compares to some well known steels such as S30V, 3V, A2, D2 etc. mainly in terms of impact resistance and yield strength. I mean, can Cera-Titan withstand impacts like 3V, 5160 or A2, or is it class brittle like S30V, D2, ATS-34... Can Cera-Titan withstand heavy prying like 3V and 5160...

You know, these are the kind of things I would appreciate to have some information about.

Thanks in advance.

Good questions.
A quick answer right now is,no,Cera-Titan cannot withstand impact
from chopping.
The material is stronger than ceramic, but it is still not as strong as a steel
blade.
As far as it comparing to the other steels you mentioned,I'll have to go look
to see what tests have been done.
It may take a while to find, but I'll get it here as soon as I can.
Thanks,TJT

Thanks a lot TJT, I appreciate you took the time to answer my questions.

You know, some knifenuts like me are always looking for the ultimate blade material that can do it all, so when I heard about this new Ti alloy, I became automatically curious about it.

Thanks again.
