Well, I went ahead and had it done! First thing I'll say is that it came out flawless and looks amazing. There was nothing wrong with the original finish but I wanted something different from my other CR knives. The guy that did it for me has been doing guns and knives for a while. He was METICULOUS in prepping, coating and reassembling the knife. Everything was replaced in its exact removed orientation. Critical areas were not coated and the inside is coated thinner than the outside to preserve tolerances. In fact, the knife opens and closes smoother than before it was done. The pictures do not do it justice. It's a Burnt Bronze Satin finish that suits the CR slabs perfectly. It's richer and a little darker than my pictures show.
