Well, I went ahead and had it done! First thing I'll say is that it came out flawless and looks amazing. There was nothing wrong with the original finish but I wanted something different from my other CR knives. The guy that did it for me has been doing guns and knives for a while. He was METICULOUS in prepping, coating and reassembling the knife. Everything was replaced in its exact removed orientation. Critical areas were not coated and the inside is coated thinner than the outside to preserve tolerances. In fact, the knife opens and closes smoother than before it was done. The pictures do not do it justice. It's a Burnt Bronze Satin finish that suits the CR slabs perfectly. It's richer and a little darker than my pictures show.

Needless to say. I'm very happy with it.

That was done by the Cerakoter. He called me as he thought doing it in the same color would not do the knife justice. He polished it pretty close to the blade finish. Adds a little pop and easy to clean up little inevitable clip scratches. Adds a nice clean touch.

That's nice. What would even be nicer is if you posted more pics as the days wear on and show us what it looks like after being carried and used.

^^^ I agree, it would be great to see some pictures after a little use and wear. That turned out amazing though, nicely done!

Looks good. When I saw your original post I thought you were going to do the blade, but that looks nice. I wonder how it will hold up.

Thanks for all the compliments. I'm very pleased with it.
I'll keep this thread open with comments on how it's holding up. I chose this over anodizing for durability so we will see.

Looks great, but I would be interested in seeing the long term durability of the finish on a knife.
