Ceramic Insulation sliver in finger?

My forge just arrived and a while after handling it all I have a little tiny white itchy-as-heck spot on my finger, which feels like insulation. Anyone ever had this?

I can say yes, quite often. You can soak it. If that doesn't get it out at least your body will reject it in a couple of days. Try not to scratch it (good luck with that I can never do it).

Thanks, I'm glad it's a known thing. I used packing tape on my finger and tried to pull it out that way.. my finger is still all red but the white spot is gone.

Oftentimes, I "x-ray" my fingers with a really bright flashlight to find a hidden sliver- usually metal slivers that go straight in.
