Hi Does anyone know where you can buy just the ceramic rods on the internet the medium and fine? .. I should say the plain round type I would like not having to buy the whole system like the lansky, just to get the round rods. I've looked everywhere but have not found them yet. Thanks William

If you are looking for the Spyderco sharpmaker rods you can get them from Knives Plus 1-800-687-6202 suggested retail is $11.50 so I am guessing they will go around $8. Good days,

The first knife was probably used to cut stuff.

SMKW sometimes sells the round ceramic "steels", which are somewhat larger in diameter than those found in sharpening sets. www.eknifeworks.com

A basic Crock is only $8 at Dicks, why not buy one of them and throw the wooden part away?

I have seen the rods advertised individually in A.G. Russel catalogs. You could check their website and give them a call. I think they were about $8.00 each...Ed.
