Hey folks,
Where's a good place to buy diamond sharpening rods for sharpening the asymmetrical edges?
I usually use stones and strops. I have a Sharpmaker, but I'm looking for a steel-style ceramic rod, 10-12" for using on long blades.
I tried Lee Valley, they're great for bench stones, but nada for rods.

By all means go to HandAmerica. They have what you are looking for. Keith sent me a ceramic rod that is 10 1/2" x 1/2" plus a nice handle. They aren't listed on the site. I also just got today a 6" half grooved steel (no handle by request) and a 6" matching ceramic rod was also included. Both are sheathed in their stropping leather. Some of their stuff was designed with Busse convex grinds in mind.

I'll get the full URL and add it to this reply. Can't go wrong with these people for hand sharpening. Ok, try this.
