I've been watching the KA exclusive CF knives for some time now, and have gotten much closer to jumping on one. When I visited their website again last night, they are still out of stock on the CF knives, so I signed up for e-mail notification, when they get more in stock...

Last night I was cruising the big auction site, and there is a large CF knife for sale, and in the listing it said, These are " No longer available".
KnifeArts website didn't say they were discontinued, just out of stock. I can imagine them being discontinued because it seems they sell really well.
Is there a way to see if a particular knife has been discontinued ?

KA seems to mark their knives discontinued, such as the small CGG Tanked sebenza. I doubt that they would discontinue that model yet as it's fairly popular.

Not sure of any other way than to call KA or CRK and ask?

From my point of view, it seems that KA has been selling from (seemingly) the same pile of CRKs for over 8 months now. Their list (of available CRK folders) keeps getting shorter and shorter.

I can only presume that they are goinng to be getting some more in soon...unless they (for some reason) plan to phase out the name from their offerings. That would seem doubtful IMO.

That's what I was thinking. I went to the CRK website, but didn't find anything. I was added to the e-mail list for notification when they become available, and it didn't mention anything about being discontinued.

I've noticed that too Ken. Some time back the CF knives were all listed as sold out, but then they started bringing them back to available, in stock status.
I certainly wouldn't think they would drop the line. The knives have to big of a following.

Surely they wouldn't drop it with the high demand there is for them! I had a small insingo cf for a while and loved it. If they are discontinued then I need to lay my hands on 1 fast!

Not quite .... in this case the Tanked CGG model was discontinued by CRK when the new batch of CGG models came out last year. As far as the the CF model ... that is a KA exclusive piece. Whether or not more will be produced is strictly between KA and CRK. While you could call CRK .... a phone call to Larry or Rod at KA would be your best bet to find out for sure. CRK doesn't do many "exclusives" anymore. This and the HR mnandi and sebenza (for BHQ) are the only two I can recall in recent times.

this is going off topic, but are the Tanto Sebenzas considered an exclusive? They only seem to be available at one place...and with an "exclusive" lanyard.

Bingo .... forgot about those "up north" .... that makes three exclusives.

I believe Tanked is done as it was with the elk mountain group that is discontinued. CRK used to have CGG that seemed they were available forever, the last couple years they seem to have gone though them a lot quicker, which means less time to grab one.

Knifeart has some REALLY nice exclusives that I would be super bummed if they discontinued. I love all the dealer exclusives from the Tanto/silver hardware to inlaid CF etc. CRK has done such an awesome job with these.

Cough*cough...can we get a ..fragged Ti scale on a 25 from that monkey place..cough**

I have seen the KA exclusive CF Sebenzas come in and out of stock a couple of times, so hopefully they have just sold their current inventory and are awaiting more. They seem to be too popular to discontinue, but I guess you just can't be sure with exclusive runs.

I think my point is that if it was going to be discontinued, either by KA or CRK, then it would have been marked as such from KA's end. If they have a reason to believe that they wouldn't get anymore, I am sure that there would be some indicator of it..Moreso than just "out of stock".
Also,..aren't the exclusives only that way for 2yrs, then after that, CRK can sell them directly or through other distributors? At least, that is what I thought happened with the Insingo..I ordered my Large Micarta Insingo directly from CRK..Perhaps that was something different.

Well I guess that means I'll be picking one up.

I had wondered about that, since they are gone from the website. Honestly, I don't care for many of the new ones. I thought the last batch had a bunch of winners, but I guess if they don't sell, there isn't any reason to keep making them.
