Is the CF Delica going to have the shape of the SS or the FRN?Tip up or down?I posted this on spyderco.com but never got a reply..

It's just an assumption, but I think it's gonna have the shape of the SS model. Now the SS models have slightly shorter blades, so I wonder about VG-10.

Tip up and tip down options.

Left and right hand models.

Plain and serrated models.

2000 pieces total run.

Thanks Sal,I am really looking forward to getting this one.

Yeah...but which blade Sal? I need a blade under 3 inches so this matters a lot to me.

The Delica blade is 2.7/8" for the SS models and 3" for the FRN ones. So it's up to 3" long.

Actually, the FRN one is a little over 3 inches. The police in D.C. are a little touchy about the 1/16 inch. I prefer it to be clearly under rather than a little over. (In case you're wondering, I spend a lot of time in D.C.)

My guess is that the CF Delica will be made based on the Anniversay Delica pattern. If so the blade length will be 2 15/16”

If you are worried about the blade being even close to 3 inches, why not opt for the Dragonfly, with its' 2&5/16th inch blade, and be totally legal?

I usually carry either a Navigator or an old style Delica without the clip. In my experience, the police at the checkpoints tend to measure even when the knife is obviously under 3". I've never had anyone question the older Delica but another guy from my office has a CRKT, I think it's a Kasper, that was just over 3" and had it confiscated. (I was with him when it happened.) They left my Delica alone. This is just my experience, as they say your mileage may vary.

But to answer your question, I would rather carry as much knife as possible. If I really want to be inconspicuous I carry the Navigator.

"police at the checkpoints" Well its happening, the great USA is turning into the Russia of thirty years ago.
