Want to try some CF laminated blades but not sure of the Performance potential VS Weight Savings...Looks to be a great way to make a Lightweight Fighter that gets the job done Except as a Chopper per say!
The CF I have used is some remarkably tough and hard stuff with a perfect bonding history so far.

Guess What I'm asking is for a first hand account of someone who has used a CF Laminated blade with either Ti or blade steel center. Is it a Viable option for a Fighting knife or as a Lightweight Pack knife???
Don't see the advantage as far as a Chopper or heavy duty use blade. Concerns would be De-Lamination or breakage of the CF in real world use.

Blade designs will run around 11-12" OAL and be in a Randall/ish style knife
Hope that makes it a little clearer

Never having used one nor heard of someone who has used one. I would say yes it has merit, of course you will have to find the best bonding agent to bond the CF to the steel. That I imagine is going to take some experimenting and then destruction testing. But I can see the merit in the weight savings, the CF should give you the strength that would be missing in a extremely thin blade steel.
I say go for it.

I can show you a few if you ever make it out here Robert.

I have several pieces Warren has gifted me over the years, folders, bali's and fixed blades...

had great results, chopping too but they are usually too light! avoid hammering with steel sledge... though still no delam. The epoxy I used bonds glass, the glass plates I used to sandwich some prototypes had to be ground off.

FWIW I start from cloth, rather than just gluing some cf plates to a core. The core is .040 or less and has fingers cut out so the cf cloth mechanically locks into the steel core as well as being adhered to it.

Very fun projects!
