I've just recieved, as of today, my very own CF Military.
This knife, is as much a functional blade, as it is a collection piece, and what better knife, to combine these two aspects upon, than the classic Spyderco Military, which is a hardcore worker from the start.
All the hype surrounding carbon fiber, lies within it's aesthetic beauty,...
however the peel-ply carbon fiber used within the CF Military, is undoubtedly the best scale material I personally have ever experienced, simply due to the combination of the attractiveness that is inherent within carbon fiber, and with the extreme grippiness, that exceeds the popular properties of G10.
Trust me when I state, that this knife is "ultra-grippy".
The Military is a classic, and all CF Spyderco's are highly desirable,.......
So with the CF Military being the first to incorporate the ultra-grippy, undoubtedly-attrative, peel-ply carbon fiber,.... how can this piece not become an all-time classic Spydie ???...
thus, how can anyone not hustle to scrape the benjamin's together, and get the jump on one today ?,..... before they're all gone..., and there's no doubt they won't be gone, sooner rather than later.
Whether it be on your hip, as an EDC, or on your shelf, as a collection piece, this is one serious Spydie,..... Excellent work Sal and Co. ,... I'm certainly pleased I scored one, as they sure went fast.
Whilst I do indeed like the peel-ply carbon-fiber, as well as the change and the new style, I still personally favour the wet-look, water-cut carbon fiber, and mainly because I maintain my CF knives as collection pieces, thus prefer the beauty of the smooth and shiny CF. So whilst I think that the peel-ply would be excellent to use, I hope that Spyderco does not replace one with the other, but rather incorporate both into their future CF models.
One suggestion though, if I may,......
I've come to think that all the CF Spyderco's, would benefit from a stainless steel clip, just as featured on the CF Harpy.
Since CF knives are more flashy, and so are the SS clips, and they benefit both collection pieces, and functional working pieces, yet in my opinion, would just make CF Spydie's that little bit more stunning!....
I'd actually be interested as to how it is determined that the CF Harpy would feature a SS clip, and others such as the CF Civilian, and CF Military have a black clip ??
I gather that black can sometimes be more inconspicuous, yet as with the Gunting, the SS clips replaced the black clips due to paint chipping off, and overall the SS clip Gunting's are more desirable,....... yet on a CF Spyderco, which is generally a more collector version, I would think a stainless clip would be beneficial.....
What do others think ?????
