recently picked up a bugout with rogue micarta scales and I absolutely love it. Like it so much I ordered another one brand new and first thing will be to replace the scales. Which would u choose between carbon fiber or micarta? Really leaning towards micarta bc I love the one I just got, but rogue's website says the micarta is more flimsy than the oem scales. Though, this is not the case with mine, the micarta scales are nice and rigid

Love the Bugout but have never gotten around to custom scales for either my regular or mini.
One thing to keep in mind regarding Micarta; there's a very diverse group of materials that make up "micarta". The micarta on the knife you currently have could be very different from the micarta that Rogue uses for their scales. You might try to research this further to insure you're happy with your new scales.

Check the weight difference too, it's small but noticeable in hand, CF is very light!

Think I might actually go for the g10 tech grip scales through rogue bladeworks. Carbon fiber are out of stock right now anyway

I have the CF scales on my Bugout with absolutely no plans or desire to change them out. 1.8 oz? Fuhgeddiboudit.

My favorite Bugout scales I've tried are the G-10 ones that KSF sells. Despite being milled out (lol, who even puts lightening pockets into thin G-10 slabs?) they're still quite stiff and light, I never feel the flex I had with the stock scales.
