ok guys i was wondering what all you vet. CRK owners think of the two..i have a line on a small CF or small Starseb. was wondering which of you favor over the other. thanks

yea, i really like the design of the starbenza it looks amazing, but i am kinda after the light weight of the carbon fiber small Seb. and also it does look real sleek and clean. im torn between the two.lol i wish i could sell a few of my ZT's b4 these two are snagged up and i could just get both..is the weight that much of a Difference in the two, anyone?

Starbenza will take more of a beating in that it is Ti and sandblasted. Be aware that the CF on the sebenza is polished smooth. So you lose a bit in grip and it will show scratches on that finish. I prefer the way the Ti wears. Basically, are you after a user or a lighter use EDC? You can't go wrong with either though. In the end, you're getting a Sebenza.

Eek, well....starbenza. Just do it ;)

If it's a small, the weight won't be an issue anyway:thumbup:

the cf is significantly lighter and obviously smoother. If I had a first go id choose the starbenza. But if you want something light and love cf then that'd be your choice. The star already comes with double lugs too, so another +1 on the starbenza

I stopped carrying my full ti small and went to a CF. I'd never go back as long as the option is there. Feels just as solid, however it feels much lighter... even though it's just 3/4 oz lighter. You'll never break the CF as long as you are using it as a knife. That should really be a non issue in your consideration.

You'll probably only notice the weight difference if you carry it in the bottom of your pocket. When I carry my small 21 clipped, I pat it now and then to make sure I still have it. Thank goodness the clip grips rather tightly! So, consider how you will EDC it.

I like my knives (and everything else!) free of logos and text. That's one of many reasons I prefer CRK knives. So, in my case the Wilson Combat logo would be a deal breaker. Plus, for an EDC, I think lighter is better. I'd go with the CF.

Lighter and no logo: Clip comes off, logo comes off.

I was hanging out with a welder buddy a few years back playing with some small projects. I would have NEVER seen him as a high end knife guy. He pulled out a very small folder & began scraping paint off of metal with it. I observed one extremely used William Henry carbon fiber Damascus Lancet. EXTREMELY used. The clip was swinging around on one screw, the CF was scraped and dinged all over. It basically looked as if it had been run over by a car several times. I said "DUDE, you rock a William Henry"!? He had no idea what I was talking about. I said "Let me see your knife"! He said "it's nice damascus steel & probably expensive." I handed him my Seb and said "we'll you can play with MY expensive knife." The knife was a gift from a "rich buddy" who knew he was into steel. I informed him that what he was carrying originally cost $500 MINIMUM & he was shocked! He said "We'll it's just a nice tool." He continues to do anything and everything with the knife. I was hanging with him the other day and the tiny WH is still going strong.

Long story short, CF is tough as nails and very light. Get whatever floats your boat! I have a Shirigorov w/ one CF scale a d LOVE it but I would personally go with all Ti as the "one."

My hands are weak and have nerve damage. The CF scales aren't 'grippy' enough for me, so my vote goes to the Star.

I really like both, and have no idea which I would choose.
I don't think you would have an issue with the grip of the CF. CF really grips well when its wet or bloody(not sure if you fish or hunt), so that should be a non issue.

i actually ended up with the starbenza..got it in the mail today and it is a sweet little knife..its pretty light for what i expected so i am extremely happy..one question is. do i have to take it apart to get the lanyard pin out? i am assuming so case i took off the lanyard, not a lanyard guy, and its not just falling out.i would leave it in there, but it is jingling around and kinda annoying.

You do have to take it apart to get the pin out. It's a pretty simple procedure. Just go by the instructions and all should go well:thumbup:

And remember ...little washer on the lockbar side, big washer on the front scale side.
