CF Stretch

You gone done, real good...

I just received mine yesterday. What a knife! The edge is as breathtakingly sharp as the Carbon Fiber Stretch 2 . I'd think this is a candidate for the "whittling a hair" category as it will cut them with a touch I can't even feel. The ergonomics are perfect for me. Everything is in just the right spot. Finish is excellent in all areas, it's very smooth to open and close, alignment is perfect to the eye, grinds likewise.

This knife has all the makings of a classic. It's a knife that will cut with customs ten times the price of this modestly priced FRN knife. In most cases it will without breaking a sweat outcut them.

If I was limited to one knife for the rest of my life this would easily be a candidate for that one knife.

I hope they make this knife in it's ZDP bladed version for years to come.

I need extras. Lots of extras.
did I do good?

I'd say so Mr. Hump. And then some.

Well the CF version is what he's getting. I agree with you on the FRN version though. Mine has been seeing use the past couple of days without a touch up and it's still hair whittling sharp.

Yes, I ordered the carbon fiber version. It was a good price too. It seemed like a good choice for 'polite company' when you don't want to frighten the children and old ladies.

I've had the carbon fiber version since it came out. It indeed is a gentlemans knife, but one that will cut with anything on the market, even most high priced customs.

I'm glad I have both. As you said, one for when I need something more high end, and one for times when I want the same slicing ability, but in a cheaper knife.

I really love these knives.

Is $160 a good price?

That is about wholesale from a knife distributor. Whether there are better deals to be had I do not know. I have seen most that are for sale on Bladeforums going for $175 so I don't think that price is terrible unless others know something most of us don't?

Add me to the growing list of Stretch CF afi's!!! As far as I'm concerned it's the best of the Spydie lot!!! I even have a spare one in the safe!!!

Just for comparison, I own 2 versions of the original Stretch (SS) and the FRN version also. Waiting on the ZDP Blue version to ship!

As an all around knife it is fantastic, I do have EDC's that are more specialized in nature, but if i wanted to grab just one knife... It would be it.

You guys are a bad influence... I ended up ordering a CF Stretch yesterday. :p One site has a special price on them that was too good to pass up.

I've actually never handled the CF version before, but I love the FRN Stretch... just not a big fan of FRN scales generally.
