Please excuse the redundancy of this as I've asked this question before, but with few answers, but the release date is just upon us and I have to sort this out.

I'm of course talking about the Ti RIL MIL. I want one. Badly. I also want the rumored CF/Ti RIL M4 Millie... even moreso than the all titanium S30V version. Thing is, I can only afford one. So my dilemma is that I don't know for certain if and when the M4 one is actually going to be produced. And I'll have to act quickly if I'm to have any shot at acquiring the all Ti S30V Millie. So either I ensure that I at least get one of them, the all Ti, but that also means not being able to afford the mythical M4 version if it is released just down the road.

Can anyone who knows anything about the M4 version please give up whatever information you have so that I can make as informed a decision as possible at this point? I'm starting to save my pocket change now for this purchase. It'd be nice to know what exactly I'm saving for.:)

Well, Sal has already said the full Ti version is not a one time thing, its going to be small batches put out over some time, 50-100 a month or so.

If you REALLY want an M4 one, buy the full Ti, sell it when/if the M4 comes out and buy that one.

You might want to have a look at this thread over on the Spyderco Factory Forum. Based on it, sounds to me like the CF/Ti RIL M4 Military is someone's private wet dream.

That thread's a year old. This was the remark made this past August.

(Sorry, I just grabbed the info):

On the 30th of last month I called knife works to ask if they had the Manix 2 in stock. We spent some time talking about pre-ordering the Ti-Military. He told me that he was lining up a run of Ti/CF Military’s in M4, to be out 10-12 months from now.

I would go for the Military/Ti in M4. Lemme tell ya, Spyderco's Mule M4 is unlike anything I've ever used. It simply does not get dull. If you wear it down for long enough, it simply develops teeth and continues to cut very aggressively.

It sounds like the TiM4 would be a long way out. I'd score the first one up and deal with the other versions later.
