CG coating question

Well I received a Battle Mistress from the shop Monday. All is well but I noticed something curious. The new BM has the same coating as my Swamp Rat Bandicoot instead of the regular CG coating on the rest of my Busse E-handles. I thought they used different coatings and the one on the CG was a marginally tougher. Not that I'm complaining. Just though it was curious. Anyone else have a Busse with the Rat coating?
You can't tell really well from the picture but here's what she looks like next to my Steel Heart.

BM and SH

By itself

I thought it was the same coating. I have assorted CGs and they all appear to bear the same sort of coating as the rest, including the Swamp Rats.

It's smoother with the swirls but it's still a crinkle type coating. I just know my Steel Hearts and Natural Oulaws and Assault Shaker all have the same coating. My Bandicoot and Rat Shakers are all the same but different than the coating on my Busse blades. The Rats have the slightly smoother feeling coating with the swirl patterns where the Ergo's have a rougher flat black crinkle coat. The new Mistress matches the Rats and not my other CG Busse knives. I noticed it the moment I took it out of the sheath. Thought it was interesting.

i would agree that the swamp rats have a different coating then the busse's

basically, take the smooth crinkle coat of the busse's, chop it up a bit, so that htere are larger bump area's, and throw in a good helping of full and half circle raised area's.

its pretty.....

it may just be a time setting ont he coating machine or something that was left for a little to long... as of yet, i havent heard of any busse's carrying the rougher coating on it, but i dont know much about busse history/knives...
