Combat grade? competition grade? What is the difference?

I have the compet. finish on the jackhammer, and love it, so I am looking for other knives with that finish.... What else had it?

I believe only the '08 SE Sarsquatch and Jackhammer have been released in competition finish. I like to refer to the competition finishes as "CF", because everyone already uses "CG" for "combat grade".

I'm a big fan of competition finish myself. I wish they'd release everything that way- I like it better than satin. And its cheaper, too!

i dont have any of them i just remember seeing jaxx's picture with all three of them

how does combat grade differ from normal?

Combat grade are the coated normal models.

LE's are the shiny numbered ones.

Competition Finish is a rough "right out of heat treat" finish with a wicked sharp convex edge. When all you are after is performance....Not looks....

CG means Coat Generously... as in slather that competition grade blade in oil before it starts rusting. I love my Busses, but I am personally very disappointed that they are oxidizing the way they are

There is a post somewhere recently saying to use fine sandpaper to get down to the 'good' INFI because there is a coating from the heat treat.
