Found a package in the mail today and inside was my new CGFBM.
I was not expecting it for awhile yet so what a pleasant surprise.:)

Right off I'll say that my expectations are exceeded,
it is even better than I'd hoped for, what a knife!

Talk about perfection in a large knife, this is it.
I can rest easy now cause I have the knife I've been looking for.:D

I ordered the Black finish with Black G-10 Magnum handles.
I'm glad I chose the magnum handles, they fill my hand just right.
With the palm swell, my hand naturally centers on the handle when I grip it.
It's a heavy knife, any more weight would be too much and any less would not be enough.
The balance is right on the forward half of the finger choil.
When I choke up on it the blade feels light and quick,
and when I hold the rear of the handle, the blade feels pretty heavy,
just right for chopping.

Usually I can find something about the design of a knife that I would improve upon
but looking at this one, I don't see anything I would change.

Now then, the tube fasteners, there is a problem there.:(
It appears that the press was not set up right or the operator was inebriated.:o
They are off center to the right side, not flush but about 1/16" from being seated, and the flare is off-center to the rear.
All three on the right side and the rear one on the left side are like this,
the front two on the left side are good, nice and flush.
Maybe someday I'll send it back in to be corrected but it's not a big enough problem to worry about.
It's perfectly usable the way it is.

I have a camera but no online account, so sorry guys, no pics for now:grumpy: .

Once again, let me say that I am very satisfied with the knife so far and am glad that I ordered one.

When the weather gets better, I'll go outside and put it to use.

Glad to hear that you like your FBM so much!

That flare job on the tubes is unacceptable and drinking at the press station will be put on hold for 2 weeks!!!!

Please return it ASAP and we will fix the issue and return it immediately!!!

We will make up for the screw-up! :D

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Jerry

There's that great customer service again!! :) where are you going to find that today?...NO QUESTIONS ASKED, JUST SEND IT BACK!!

You cannot ask for better service than that! My three FBMs had all of the tubes just right, that was one of the first things that I looked at & then I checked blade straightness & all was well!:D

Well, I was going to go out and chop up some of those trees that blew down in that storm that just came though here, :D
but now it's just too cold out there.:(

I'll give Amy a call and ship it back to you'all.

Supposed to warm back up a little by next week.:)

Just checked the temp and with the wind chill it's 18 degrees.
