What's the thickness difference between standard grips and mag grips? My CGFBM is a hair under an inch thick, on the front end by the talon hole. Does that make them mags or standard? Thanks,,,:)

I could be wrong --- but I'm pretty sure that the standard scales are flat and consistent --- while the magnum handles have peaked and valleys.

Mags ~3/8" ea
Std ~1/4" ea

1" would be mags .25 + .375 + .375 :)

Oh, and mags have more cleavage.

Even some of the standard scales have peaks and valleys, the peaks are just lower, and the valleys more shallow than mags. The snakeskin seem to be a bit flatter than then black canvas that I have. There's a lot of variations in all areas of older Busses, that's part of what makes it fun.

Which are the handshaped? The top?

My CG FBM has a similar profile to the top blade.

The top is the mags, but hand shaping thins them down a bit compared to machined.
