Since CRK is closed for the weekend I thought I would ask the pro's a quick question. Can you just buy a CGG scale from CRK or do you have to order the whole knife? I thought I remembered where I had heard that you could order just the CGG scale but I did not turn up anything with a search.

If my memory serves me correctly, you can not buy just the scale. If you have a CGG, you can buy a plain Jane scale, but if you have a Plain Jane, you cannot buy a CGG scale.

Hope this helps, and maybe some of the more knowledgeable members can chime in and help.

I think if you send plain jane to CRK they can engrave your scale in CGG.

CRK will NOT engrave a CGG on an existing scale. Even though it would just be silver reverse contrast. I had asked awhile back for even a reverse contrade Native American and it was a no go...............I did at one time want a particular CGG pattern on an insingo. Since the insingo is only available in plain ( now micarta and G10 are available ), I could not get the CGG on an insingo. Heather told me I could buy just the CGG scale and then a plain insingo and just swap the scale. Its possible their policy has changed since then, but I doubt it. This was about 2 years ago............It basically comes down to if you want a particular CGG, you just gotta buy the whole knife, other wise its going to cost you lots more. I have always been into the CGG/UG CRK's, so I have asked them tons of questions about them and would could be done and what could not be done.

I emailed Heather about a year or two ago and was able to purchase a CGG scale for a plain jane large regular sebenza that I have. Purchased it from them. So you might want to email Heather;)
