CGG Sebenza as a User

I'm considering a CGG Sebenza as a user. My understanding is that CRK will not refinish the polished/CGG side if you send it in for a spa treatment, so my question is: How well does it hold up with a knife that is carried regularly and used? It's just a knife, and obviously this is just a cosmetic question, but just curious if can look really worn quickly.

Many thanks in advance.

CRK will polish the flats during a spa, just limited on re-coloring it is all. The polished flats show scratches and scuffs less than bead blasted, and are usually only noticeable when turning to the light the right way. The top one I have carried for a couple years, the bottom one all summer. They do not mark up much. Some I have carried for years and they look like the top one. I also don’t put change or keys in the same pocket either.

Also keep in mind the colors are almost always in milled areas below the surface of the titanium handle. The transparent oxide is very thin (nanometers) but surprisingly durable, making it unlikely to wear off like on the thumb studs, which are exposed. It's possible cabochon's make spa treatment difficult because they stand above the surface of the handle.

Take a look through Lone Wolfe's collection thread- you'll see lots of "user" CGGs & UGs that still look great even with normal wear and tear.

Absolutely, personally I think the more scars it has the more you'll like it, and you may never send it back in to make it look new again.
