I have not dealt with damascus steel enough to know a lot about the steel. I understand how it is made, just not how it's properties work out. Specifically I'm talking about the Lionsteel SR-1 with this steel. Can anyone tell me how this steel works in regards to edge, sharpening ease, hardness range, what type stainless alloy does it come closest to as far as these things are concerned. In other words, were I to get one, I would carry it and use it, though my every day use is really, really light (I get a kick out of carrying something like this because I enjoy something like this):). Guess I would also ask is this steel all show with no go.

Any direction would be much appreciated!
 
The Search function is my friend!:thumbup::) Found some info that would indicate this steel being all show, and all GO. Another one to complicate the last purchase of the year!
