I'm now the proud owner of a village chainpuri! It is beautiful Kukhri, but it is as sharp as a butter knife. I don't know the best way to sharpen a really dull Kukhri knife. I'm think inking a leather strop but it might be too dull for that. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Theres a few videos on the internet with fine sandpaper and a mouse pad. Try it out on a straight blade first. Works really well

Totally agree, the mousepad technique is super!

Use a sharpie pen to mark the edge, so that you know where you're sharpening the blade.

If you have skill with Japanese Whetstones, they work well too

Get you an assorted grit pack of sandpaper from the autobody store and use a rubber mousepad or similar item. Convex sharpening. I had to learn also..

i can shave with my butter knife. :)

quick lick with a work-sharp, now i just touch it up with the mousepad/emery paper method.

:) something i thankfully have never needed to do.

it's pretty crappy soft stainless, but it was cheap. easier to cut a meaty sandwich if it's sharp.
