Hello friends
I would like to show you a knife that I just finished.
I spend about a week on it , but I think that you will like the end results.
The blade is made of Elmax. The hardness is 59.5 HRC , heat treated and tested by me. The unbeveled part is with the rolling mill finish. The thicknes of the edge before I made the secondary bevel was 0.2mm (8 thou) . At the tip it was a bit more , for some additional stability.
The handle is made of stabilized alder burl, african blackwood , hybrid stabilized wood and inox elements. The chain spacers are below the level of the wood and every one of them is made separately , so there could be good simetry and equel height on all spacers. The curvature of the chain spacers was a challenge , but I think they came out nice.
The sheath is made of 2mm cow leather. The blade fits in a wooden inlay and the leather locks it tightly. You can see this in the video below.
Steel - Elmax 59.5 HRC.
OAL - 250 mm (~9.8").
Blade - 119Х23Х3.8mm (~4.7x0.9x0.15") flat grind with slight secondary bevel.
Blade finish - p 800.
Handle - stabilized alder burl, african blackwood, hybrid and inox.
Leather sheath with wooden inlay.
Weight with/without sheath 159/199 grams.
