so i have an old WWII kukri thats been my camp knife for quite some time but ive never had a chakma or Karda so i think its time to complete the family, now i looked at the site and i couldnt find these sold separately unless i missed something, so any suggestions?

thanks for all the help

I'd shoot Yangdu an email. Once upon a time, Uncle Bill had a box of miscellaneous kardas/chakmas. They probably won't match, but they would be functional.

well thats a bit of a bummer but ill manage, i dont need them immediately and even if i did i still have my folders and sharpening kit to take theyre place for now, thanks for telling me

On the topic, it seems a small, fine rat tail file would go a long way towards filling in as a substitute, eh?

I might be tempted to put a little ceramic or diamond rod into one of the pockets. It serves the same alignment function as the chakma, but also sharpens the blade.

thanks for the suggestions but i honestly wouldnt trust the pockets on my sheath anymore, the leather is cracked and breaking off, its now either papery thin or hard as a rock. and the seam isnt being held by any thread, most of which has been rotted and broken down. ive wrapped it up in some good nylon ribbon but i wouldnt trust it to carry anything besides my kuk for fear of losing it.

as to the sharpener, i would probably take different grits of sandpaper since the edge is convexed. but when im going minimalist i have a old texas river rock that works wonders for my knives.

I do not have the Karda and chakma in stock.
Check back in July. Thank you and welcome to the HI and forum.
