with the aid of RayseM RayseM I was able to get this lovely Chambriard Mi-Jo mid lockback folder, scales are juniper which exudes a pleasant peppery smell. This is a new size that they started making a couple years ago and I have been wanting one ever since I saw them listing it. But the folks I used to get the Chambriards from have folded up shop so there are no US dealers that carry this, a shame for sure. So this one made it's way from Thiers France, to Germany and then to my little town today, took a couple weeks once it was ordered to reach here but the wait was worth it.
I've owned about every version that they make, some of them I've owned twice or more, in different scale materials, but this one is slightly larger than their Compact model and slightly smaller than their Compagnon model, I call it the Goldie Locks size, just right :)

Thanks again for the assist Ray and thanks to the Chambriard family for making such nice knives.

I know there are several on this forum that also own some Chambriards, for a fact a lot of them were at one time mine ;) so please feel free to join in on this thread and post them if you got em'

Remember this one, Gary? ;)
One fine little knife, with an awesome belt sheath.

Yes sir so it went from being made in France, then south to Australia and then up to Pennsylvania and finally out west to you in Canada, a lot of miles!

As to juniper handles I’ve owned several knives with them and no problem at all

I have to think so, but not sure, in any event I prefer the look and smell

Had a thought bouncing around in my skull and thought it would make a nice way to have this folder on the desk when I am there, out in the open to view it, instead of squirreled away in the pocket or sheath, so I took a piece of walnut and shaped it to allow the folder to rest in it, while a piece of oak provided a base. I have three small bamboo dowels coming up through the oak and into the walnut to help anchor that piece of walnut to the base securely. I'm not a wood worker by any means, but I am learning as I go, so while it is a little rough, it was a lot of tedious work on a small project.

Thanks, but it's aroma doesn't extend far from the scales, otherwise my wife might have disapproved ;)

I really like that concept Gary. I really hate storing some exceptional and good looking knives in a drawer. Yes, there is the display cabinet thing but wall space is at a premium in our house. You may have inspired me G2 - I see a folding knife mobile in the future. :)
