Very nice Samsher you managed to snag there West.

Good flar at the butt, even and fairly large ring, traditonal bolster, and a cho just in the right place. Sgt Khadka sure knows his kukris.

Thanks Jai. I have a weakness for chiruwa handles and have been wanting to get an example of Sgt. Khadka's work. Add the walnut, white metal fittings, and beauty of the samsher I couldn't resist. Also the handle looks girthy. Most of the handles are way too small for my hands.
I have to thank my wife for this one. She was working on the computer and came and got me when Yangdu posted this.

can't see the pic - anybody snag a copy you can email to me?

The Sgt. does such great work. They work hard as well as being pretty!

That is almost a perfect khuk: no cho creep, nice pommel flair, in that 18"/28-oz. desirability range...

Blade geometry: nice. Hill walnut: truly beautiful wood. White metal fittings: my preferred, and made by the good Sgt. Khadka.

It actually doesn't get any better than that, to me. Supercongrats.

Fat-bladed rascal. It may be unique. Only Norm knows for sure. :D

That is gorgeous. Woe is me. Sgt Khadka is the best Kami. And that Cho is gorgeous. I love when the edge is proud of the cho like that. Dang.

chiruwa samsher with an oversize booty - very interesting!

Didn't someone that looks a lot like you snag that 20" 41 ounce ang khola just six hours before this one? That was a great steal!!!!

As a newbie, my eye is not quite developed so I'm glad Ad Astra had specific details to say to say about this one. BUT I guess I'm looking for the ultimate Khuk in case the Lord said "It's your turn to come to heaven and you can only bring one Khuk." Would this one be the pick?
Please also tell me other the differences that make this Khuk special?

Thanks - Wally

I had not previously been a big fan of the Samsher; not that I disliked it, but it just did not grab me in the way some of the other HI blade models had. This one has changed my mind.

I'm glad I didn't see this one in time or I would have had to buy it.

I already have a Khadka Samsher but this one may be even better.

Especially with that non-cho creep.

Eric.

I think the good Sargent makes some of the best khuks and certainly the best handles of any of HI's contributors:thumbup:

IMO the Samsher along with the larger balance is just about the best handling of the big 18" knives. I have one of these at 18/29 oz., but the cho on this one is even closer to the bolster, not that it makes any difference as to how they work.

Great knife and good snag.
