Not a regular in this subforum, I mostly post at Shop Talk, but this issue is important for us knifemakers, hopefully this petition can raise awareness for us all.

The problem:

Knifemakers around the world are being silenced by Instagram, is not a shadow ban, they say it openly, our content will only be shown to followers not to the big audience Instagram has...

It's been like this since end of 2023, this directly repercutes directly in how our work can be shared and of course it repercutes in lost sales.

I'm a knifemaker from Argentina, the "funny part" is that every post I make about knives gets taken down, due to not following the community policies, but after I ask for a review, they are always reinstated, so they DO follow the rules.

But the ban is never removed. We need to remove this ban.

This is the same for almost every knifemaker all around the world.

Even culinary knives are being flagged, this needs to change.

To knifemakers: if you want to know if your content is being shown to non followers, switch your Instagram account to professional (you can go back to your current type) then go to account status in your profile settings and there you will see many checkmarks, if you see an orange one instead of all green, you're affected.

Might want to have this moved to Community Center, rather than W&C.

As of a few weeks ago, TikTok won't promote my videos anymore because of community standards even though my knives are generally small and non-threatening (like Mnandis and William Henry's).

I just signed the petition..
I've been shadow-banned for years...
They take down almost every post on my Instagram page...to the point I don't really post anymore.
Thanks for the heads-up

Mine also gets taken down, I appeal and they reinstate them, every-single-time, so my posts are within the rules, but the algoritm fails to acknowledge this. I cannot post links to my Instagram, but have a nice follower count, so posting still works for me, not near as well as before the ban, but still better than not doing it.
