I'm not underdtanding. You changed your email address, that won't generate an activation email for you. I've changed me email twice and I didn't get any activation email with those changes. As far as the server switch, Spark announced there were some problems associated with it, we are still on the original server as far as I know. Once the migration takes place there shouldn't be a need for activation enails either. There is a paragraph one the settings page for changing email that says you will receive an e-mail to reactivate your account with the new e-mail. Wasn't sure, so I thought I would ask.
