I assembled the sebenza it the way your supposed to putting the scales together first then inserting the blade assembly. It was probably ~30% and now its barely engaged and fails with very slight pressure. I did not mess with the lock bar or anything else just simply tied a new lanyard.

Im not worried about it worst comes to worst ill send it in im just baffled how it can just change like that. The seb is pretty much brand new just got it a few weeks ago.

Holy cow I love this knife Im kicking myself that I didnt get one sooner. Its literally my perfect edc!

Any ideas why this would happen? And again I didnt mess with a single thing.

Thanks guys!

To make the lockup earlier from a lockup that's already DEEP: with the screws loosened up a little but not removed push up on the lock side scale and down on the non-locking scale while tightening the three screws, starting from the back (closest to the clip) toward the front (the pivot screw). So, that being said, to make it a deeper lockup, just do the opposite... Push up on the non-locking scale and down on the locking scale and your lockup should be deeper after you tighten it all down. Hopefully that makes sense...

Wrist flick it a couple of times to help seat the lock. See if that works.

Thank you, lock up is a bit later now and doesnt seem to fail although Im not putting tons of pressure on it.

Thanks dude, I searched my issue in google before I made this thread and saw johns video and thought "hell maybe the opposite will work!" Ive tried it twice and it didnt work. I really appreciate the idea though.

Do you think it being a new knife still that it hasnt had the time to seat in properly or something like thaat? Dont have a whole lot of experience with framelocks only my second one after a 0561 which I departed with.

I don't like putting the handle together first then sliding the blade and washers into the handle. I much prefer to stack everything from the non lock side up, each to their own though of course. I find that CRK's don't wear in like most knives do, they tend to find a seat then stick to it. I have found this true of the Sebenza as well as the Umnumzaan.

flick it 1-2 times, it wil most likely set
or reassemble it again, may not go right the first time

I do it this way too. Simple and takes about 1 minute to get it back together.

Loosen the handle screws and flick it open. Then close it and make sure the blade is centered. Then tighten up the handle screws.

yep flick once or twice, or what I like to call a "strong open" meaning I use a large circular movement opening the blade so that the blade swings strong and is fully open upon the apex of the swing yet isnt quite a flick with a high impact. this will fully seat the blade. the other day I was checking an earlier lockup on a seb I had just gotten back from the spa, this was prior to fully seating the lock and of course the bar slipped and I closed the blade on my finger (dumbass). so yeah don't do that.

I flicked it hard a few times and its locking up later but still not as far as before and fails under reasonable amount of pressure. When i test it im not trying to make it fail or anything either.

Im gonna try and assemble it in a few different ways and if I dont have any luck ill probably just contact crk. Im gonna miss it if I have to send it in!

Thanks for all the help guys.

Maybe you mixed up the locking sleeve with the larger tail sleeve. That would make it so the blade wouldn't open quite all the way. I know I'm reaching but that may be your problem.

You talking about the stop pin sleeve and the blue backspacer sleeve on the rear standoff?

If it is thats not the case.

I appreciate the contribution!
