I`m going to be making some changes, probably starting in August. One of the things I want to do is to try to start a budget line of simple knives. I`ve already done the scandi model, I`m hoping it will catch on. Prices will start at $100 and go to $125, with no sheaths. Sheaths will be an extra $10. What I`m wondering is this. What blade styles do you guys think would be good choices for these?

a necker -- 2.5 - 3" of blade, 4" of handle, no scales (or really thin ones), flat or high saber grind?

A lot of the current line will be gone.

would it help any if you did your value line in 1084 instead of O1?
cheaper material and pretty simple heat treat so you might save a little time as well.

Are you going to keep the pack knife in the line-up?

The Pack Knife has actually been gone for a while. I just thought I would try it again. In reality, I keep all my old patterns on hand in case someone sees a pic of one somewhere and wants one. So, any old model can still be made, but they may take a little longer to get because I won`t have material on hand, it will have to be ordered.

I know I`m sure not doing anymore scandis. I`ve got two just sitting, for a cheap price.
