Changes to 301?

No date code on the tang stamp after the "301".
The covers appear to be smooth, not "saw cut"
Extra pin in the covers.
It also doesn't match what's here: https://www.buckknives.com/search?q=301
I vote "fake".
You should send Buck a link to that offering. They might be able to get it taken down and go after the "person" selling it, and maybe whoever is making them. 😡

It's interesting though. If you click on the Rosewood brass bolster version on the "buckknives" link, you'll see the same knife just in different cover, with rounder bolsters.

As bizarre as it sounds, I've previously seen 'photos' of at least some Case folders on vendor sites, that've been altered to show configurations that don't exist, such as one pattern's frame superimposed with a blade config from a different pattern.

The photo in the link by the OP looks like some Buck 302 Solitaire models I see on the web, with the frame having rounded bolsters, but then showing the Buck 301's blade configuration (even showing '301' on the tang stamp). This reminds me strongly of the strange photo 'renditions' offered up by vendors, as mentioned by Arathol previously and as I've seen before as well.

At the very least, I'd ask (or demand) clarification from the linked vendor as to what the knife actually is. Or more likely, I'd just shop elsewhere for a Buck 301. They're ubiquitous, with many reputable vendor options for purchasing.

And the tip grind of the spey looks different on the rosewood version too, with what appears to be a deeper belly. Weirdness...
