Got my Insongo Pro. Soldier today, did not realize there have been noticeable changes in the last few years.

The Insingo is dated 2015 and the drop point is dated 2012.

Insingo is much darker and the sheath is much different.

Weird effect, in the sheaths the drop point looks much shorter, but they are actually the same size. But I learned the hard way, do not put the drop point in the Insingo sheath....it will "snap" right in, but I just about couldn't get it back out! :)

I have an old original drop point professional soldier ( the one I did the review on ). I recently bought the tanto version. The sheaths and color are indeed different.

It should be an ideal nice, light fixed blade. Unfortunately, my paw hand is just too wide for comfort. It works fine as a kitchen utility because I use a slightly different grip. An Insingo Pro with a half inch longer handle would be perfect.

The finish on both version (today) is indeed dark and deep:

However, I prefer real kydex sheaths vs new injection molded one... so I fixed that:

Great pics. I'm with you here, the newer sheath on my Insingo, is way looser than the one on my Drop Point, rattles a lot. I wear stuff like this as neckers, and am a little concerned if it will hold or not.

Don't be concerned, no need for that. Just stop carrying it like that as it will NOT hold strong enough. If you jump from anything higher than 1 ft I'm sure the knife will end up on a ground. Been there, done that. PS was not designed to be a neck knife, it's a plate carrier knife for horizontal carry, or better yet tip-down carry on your armor. That's why I kydex them, to make them neck-safe.

I found a simple remedy to make the new sheath suitable for neck carry. I tied a short length of paracord to the top two eyelets with a little tag end attached. This allows you to pull the paracord up and over the finger guard on the sheath. It secures the knife and stops it from rattling. What I did is a little difficult to explain, so here are a few pictures that may help demonstrate.
