I was used to the old format where all posts were available to be read by scrolling up or down to read the next or previous thread.

The new format is a little more difficult for me to get used to.

What if the "Prev" up arrow and "Next" down arrow that occur under the box that lists the posts in a thread were also placed below the post so that when finished reading the post instead of having to scroll back up to the top of the post you could just move forward or back through the posts in that particular thread??????

Somehow you've reset your thread display mode choice without realizing it, or the Net Demons did it for you....

Go to your User Control Panel, Edit Options, and scroll down to Thread Display Mode. Chooose Linear, Oldest First. Nothing counts until you go to the bottom of the page and click Save Changes.

Hey, I have a display-related question that's too stupid to deserve a new thread, so I guess I'll ask here.

I hit the collapse button on the main page for recent threads. Now whenever I come here, it's collapsed (after having un-collapsed it). Even worse, it re-collapses every time I even back out of a thread back to the main page...so if I hit a thread a bit down the list, then hit back, I'm staring at a blank white page and have to scroll way back up to the top and re-un-collapse it!

Seems pretty stupid but it's getting really annoying and I have no clue how it became the default (can't find any settings either).

It sounds like you are deliberately choosing to use a nonlinear thread display mode. (Almost nobody does that; the other modes are long obsolete and only still exist for people who were determined never to learn anything new no matter how much better it is.)

I suggest you try the same advice I gave Swoop -- or you could click where it says "For a full explanation of the modes, please view this help page" and see if you can find what you want there....

No I hadn't changed those...I double checked and it's still set to linear.

The problem isn't with the actual threads; they display fine, same as ever. It's just the main page (bladeforums.com) where the "recent threads" collapses itself every time I view the page.

I dunno, maybe it's just a screwed up cookie or something. Thanks for the help tho.
Edit: Hey-o! Just cleared my cookies and it seems to work now! Must've been a corrupted one. Talk about annoying...
