I have a CRKT Rollock,( I can only afford the CRKT model) and it's a neat knife except I dont like the plastic scales.

Anyway I found some micarta in my barn, looks like black and red canvas micarta so I'm gonna try and change out the scales, I'll post pics of the knife and the progress, be patient with me as I'm under going a total knee replacement of my left knee in about 3 weeks so my progress might be a little slow at first but I'll keep ya updated with posts and pics as I progress.

Good luck on your knee bro , my Brother had his replacedlast year , took him out for at least a month but , he's much better now , can doo all the stuff he could not previously.

Just a thought , on my CRKT Prowler I didnt like the scales either until I took them off and rounded them some with some emery cloth , not it is much more comfortable in my pocket and hand , and it looks more "loved". :D

I'd be interested in seeing this project. (I meant the Rollock not the knee surgery.) I like the Rollock 1 knives, I have two of them. From looking at them it doesn't seem like it would be too hard to remove the old scales and use them as a template for custom scales.

By the way Smokey Mountain has a sale on black and blue plain edge Rollocks. $7.99 each or a set of black and blue for $14.99.

Thanks for the tip, I think I'll pick up a few more and try some file work, BTW the do come apart very easy.
