Changing email address

I am not sure what is going on with my email address. When I go to the User CP and click on edit email address it shows an old email address that I no longer use or have access to. I put in my new email and my password and when I hit save changes it says 'the email you entered is already in use.'

However, when I go back to edit email it still shows the old address that is no good. I would assume since it shows this address it is what shows up if someone tries to email me. I have tried doing this multiple times on different days and get the same thing. Just wanting to update my email address and was looking for some assistance. Thanks!

Did you open another account using that email address? If you can log onto that account and change that to another email address -- you can use a throwaway yahoo or gmail address, anything that works -- that should fix it.

I totally do not remember creating another account...But that fixed it.
