Recommendation? Changing Finish on Quiet Carry Waypoint

I own a beadblasted Waypoint and it is starting to get wear on it and I would like to modify the finish to hide this a bit. Without looking anything up I bought some spherical quartz rocks put a scale of a CRKT Pilar and the stones in a water bottle and shook it for 15 minutes. Noticed a difference but very slightly. Can you tell I don't know what I am doing? I don't want to go the route of purchasing a tumbler, but want to use a method that won't take hours and hours of manual effort to get a decent result.

Can someone point me in the right direction of what type of tumbling material/medium to use and an efficient method?

I've heard of doing what you did, wrapping it in a beach towel and bungee cords, and throwing the whole thing in the dryer for an hour.
