In the last couple months I have been attracted to tantos. I started off with a Gerber Armor that I love. I find the tanto to be very practical for my needs. So, I started looking at Kershaws offering and couldn't find anything that quite hit the mark until I wandered into a local Acadamy Sporting Goods store and came across the Kershaw Tone. It has only been in my pocket for five hours, but it was love at first sight. It's got that tough ZT look. It's good and thick, which is a plus for me. The AO is great. Even though I prefer manual, I'm not complaining. Great work on this one Kershaw and thanks!

Sorry...don't have a pic.

Never heard of it. Looks like a China knife which I never really pay attention to.

Gimme a Zing Tanto or a ZT0700 anyday though.

The Tone looks interesting. If you like Tanto's, take a look at the RJ I. I really like mine, I wish it had some jimping on the top ramp but other than that it is a nice knife for the price. They also make an RJ II which is a little smaller. I had a Brawler as well but got rid of it, didn't like the handle scales as well (glass filled nylon versus G10 on the RJ I).

Started out in Texas, and has gradually expanded east/northeast. Was originally an army/navy surplus type store that expanded into new merchandise. Much like your Dick's sporting goods, but generally cheaper. Lots of varied sporting goods, clothing, guns, fishing, etc. Don't work for them, just lived in Houston where they were very popular in the late 70's.
