Changing out the mini bit driver in the Leatherman Charge

Has anyone tried changing out the (useless) mini bit driver in the charge? I read in another thread about the newer waves using normal torx screws, perhaps they started doing this with the charges? Replacing the mini bit driver with a more useful implement from another leatherman might be interesting.

I do not know if any other tools from other leathermans will fit that one because it is so thin, but maybe. The phillips from the Kick is the same exact thickness as the bit holder so that one is easy. You would have to look at the other tools and see if any features were the same thickness before starting.

If one were to send one's tool to LM and ask to have the mini bit driver swapped for ,say, a long philips, would they do it? I thought they were pretty firm about not "customizing." tools.

That is true. It would be a do it yourself project.

I'm awaiting arrival of a Charge xTi and might just have to have a play
