Greetings you all,

After a week of using my Classic exclusively, I found out that for my daily cutting I hardly ever need a bigger blade.

Well, of today I decided to lessen even my back up knife.

My Alox Solo and Sodbuster stay in the drawer and I'm going to carry my Pocket Pal intead.

See how that goes.

Man, what a liberating feeling to know than you don't have to carry a pound of steel for your cutting.

And totally sheeple friendly as well, so worry free if I have to use either knife in public.

Long live minimalism

Thank you for idea . I should try minimalism too. I got tad big hands and sauage fingers so if I ust opt Alox Soldier or Alox Cadet.

Downsizing IS a very liberating feeling. Since my classic is my first try knife, and it does 98% of what I need, my 'other' knife is a small peanut for tougher cutting. Either my Case, a small Bear lockblade about the same size, or a Victorinox popular. The popular is a pocket pal with checkered alox scales. The pocket pal is a great pocket knife!

Now when I carry my Case yellow sod buster junior, it feels like a machete in my pocket.

This summer I found that especially in shorts I usually carried my Wenger Alpine Backpacker. Just the right number of tools for the day.

In most cases I could do fine with only a small SAK, especially in daily life. In fact, even during camping trips it is the Pioneer or alox Soldier that I use most.

The pocket pal surely is a nice SAK. I have one too, but if it was the only one I carried, I would miss some tools like the can opener and screw drivers. The Victorinox can opener is the only one I use actually. Always in the pocket and works excellent. So I think my minimalist SAK would be something like the Cadet or Recruit, since they provide two screw drivers.

i've tried EDC 84mm waiter and its actually pretty good... very light weight and usefull for single layer sak.... its the most no nonsense sak. i like it very much.

the 84mm waiter with small screwdriver on the corkscrew and a thin alox classic on my wallet would be my minimalist EDC but wont make me feel under knife hehehe..

my most comfortable minimal SAK is sportsman... the screwdriver on the canopener and bottle opener are the most used and serve well for preying...
