Does anyone have an EKI knife that is drilled for left pocket carry? I know they are often backordered on these left handed commanders. I am interested in picking up a CQC knife but having the clip changed to the other side for left pocket carry. Does anyone have a knife that was drilled by Emerson Knives? How was the quality and overall result? Where else should I look to have my knife drilled for left pocket carry? Does anyone know the turnaround time for Emerson knives to do it? I know they charge 25 dollars. Thanks.

Do they usually have ones besides the commander?

commanders and cqc7bs. those are the only ones i have seen. I am sure there were other runs of lefties but they are few and far between. You can have a righty models made into a frame locked lefties.

I have a frame locked cqc8 and a tapped an drilled lefty 13.
A mini commander i had a long while ago was tapped and drilled by the factory. The job from the factory was professional no less, but it took almost 3 weeks.

If you have access to a drill press it is very easy to do yourself. I drilled my 7A for tip-up and tip-down on both sides. Took about 10-15 minutes and just a few dollars worth of tools. It takes a 2-56 tap and, if memory serves me here, a #10 drill bit. Make sure to drill the G-10 hole oversized. If you want to make life easier, get two taps as they are very fragile at that size. You can also pick up a tapwrench to hold it steady. Did one of my Benchmades (same drill & tap) using pliers to hold the tap and it was a real pain.
