I'd like to change the pocket clip on my Manix for tip up carry. The knife is set up for this but I have no idea what tool to use on the screws/hex heads. I don't want to tear them up. Any help for one who is mechanically challenged?

Lowes & Home Depot both have inexpensive combination hex/torx sets. The lowest priced ones are usually the exchangable head type that store the extra heads in the handle. If it is a Phillips they also have slot/phillips combos.

Also, be very careful. It is easy to strip those little screws, because they usually have locktite on the threads.

visit a local hardware store and brong along your manix. show em you need QUALITY tools for those screws. buy the 'driver, and while you're at it, get some LocTite.

remove the screws (use a well-fitting driver, with plenty of downward force in the beginning, to loosen the factory-loctite), place the clip reversed like you want, LocTite the screw lightly, inserts screws. screw down screws. let it lay still on a table, clip-down, for about half an hour to let the LocTite settle and dry

et voila! :)

PS. one more stress: get a QUALITY driver, this is very important. don't skimp on a screw-driver for Torx/Allen!! cheapo's will strip their own heads, and your screws too

Inexpensive does not always denote low quality. I have yet to strip any screws on +100 knives I have maintained over the years. But then again, I guess you have to know how to use a tool properly for it to perform well.:D

Good advice here, but I still can't find the info that I've been searching for. That is: What is the screw type/size on my Manix? I'm talking about the screw closest to the blade. I want to adjust the blade movement slightly but I can't find ANYTHING that fits it properly. I tried a 3/32 imperial, a T10 Torx (painfully close but no go), Allan wrench or Hex keys are a no go. I'm at my wits end. Do I just have a bum Torx bit? No I didn't strip/ chew up the screw head, I know better than that. What is working for you guys?

Got it......... Torx T9
