Changing the clip on UKPK...

I got a lightly used UKPK in a trade and the clip was on the left side. I took the clip off of that side no problem, but I cannot get the screw on the other side to put the clip right handed to come out. It just seems to spin in place, so I guess it's a female ended one, but then I cannot seem to push it out either. Can't with any of the screws on that side of the knife. So how do I do it ?_?

Thanks

You have to buy another torx bit screwdriver. That's how I disassembled my UKPK. Besides there being male and female screws (a feature I really like), I did find some red loctite which would contribute to difficulty in removing the screws.

A really nice user, Wouter, told me to do this, btw. Just so you know that I'm not the only one. :)

Put one torx bit screwdriver on each screw. Then turn the male screw and hold the female screw in place with the other torx screwdriver. Believe me, it's really easy.

When I flipped the clip on my UKPK, I never removed the screw completely. I loosened it enough to slip the clip out from under it, then pushed the head in to slide the other side out, slipped the clip under that side and tightened it down. Be advised that the clip screw also holds the end of the backspring in place. That spring is quite strong, and it can be a real chore to get everything lined up and get the screw back in if you ever do get it out.

Tried what you guys said and got it switched, thanks!

I really quite like this knife, but when I have the spare cash I want to get blue G10 scales with the Anso texture on them (mine is the foliage green, which is a bit of a boring color IMO :P). Might possibly do one blue one black, or one blue one white scale just to mix things up.

Thanks again

You're welcome, habit.

Where did you find alternative scales for the UKPK? That's something that I would consider doing with my own UKPK. :)

Well there's Cu(stom)Sc(ale)Di(vision) and they are I believe in Germany and they do a lot of such things, http://blog.cuscadi.de/ though in trying to get in touch with them they have not responded  but I believe Phil Dobson on this forum also does custom scales, and some others. And the UKPK being just G10 slabs should be pretty simple.
