changing the Salsa clip? help please!

OK, I need help(not mentally, though it wouldn't hurt) on my Salsa.

I'm trying to change to wire clip to left side, and can't figure it out.

I can get the barrel bolt out, but the clip itself doesn't want to move. Do I have to loosen the scales to take out the ring that holds the clip or what?

You have to use a hamnmer and screwdriver or similar implement to tap the barrel spacer out of the knife. THat's what holds the clip in securely. It should be easy to switch after that. Then it's just a matter of tapping the spacer back into position. It's in there pretty tight, so don't be afraid to use some muscle...

In my experience, one must losen scales. Once, the clip is removed line the clip up with the clip holes on the opposite side and tighten the scales and then tighten the barrel bolt. When I changed my Salsa clip, I used the tightnening of the scale screws and the barrel bolt to force the clip into the proper place (the scale holes were tight). Hope this information helps.
