Bear with me I'm not a tech writer. Changed out the pb washers in my Bugout today. For some reaseon the Bugout gave me a problem. Maybe it was my glasses or I was in a hurry.
Cut to the chase. If you use a dab of glue, like school gule on one side of the washer applying to flace of blade it helps hold those things in place. Then carefully slide blade with washers in between the frame of the knife. Insert drill bit of approx. the same size as the pivot pin into hole for pin. Then align the pivot pin with the flat spot in the frame. With this all in place the pivot pin should follow the drill bit all the way through. You might have to jiggle the handle a bit but this works if you dont get in too big a hurry. Hope this helps. A third hand would help too. Dont forget to use a pan or bowel to put all those damn little screws in so you dont have to chase them.

I can't imagine you want that glue in the pivot. The surface tension on most lubricants will hold the washers in place, usually. It gets easier with practice.

I'm in the anti-glue camp for sure. But I've never had luck trying to insert the blade and washers all at once. So I:
- Insert pivot just a bit past the liner
- Slide washer over pivot
- Push pivot in just past washer
- Insert blade (gotta pull lockbar down for it to fit over pivot)
- Push pivot in up to top of blade
- Slide in washer for top side
- Poke washer around through pivot hole in liner/scale to get it to line up on pivot; swearing may be required
- Push pivot all the way in, then screw pivot in, adjusting tension for optimal operation and lockup

This is pretty much my method, although I (usually) can do the first washer and blade simultaneously.

I think the dab of school glue with work out. I know that Benchmade uses some sticky stuff on those washers. I was all thumbs this morning.

A little bit of tacky grease does the trick of holding the washers in place and then you’re already lubed up.
