Just ordered one. (( Don't point to a dealer website which isn't a paid Bladeforums Dealer. ))

Been really looking forward to this one. The twill CF, the choil, the 2.5 ounce weight, the blade size, shape, and FFG; this could be 'the one...'

Yeah, exactly. Aside from the locking mechanism, the main difference between it and the Sage 1 is that the Chaparral is a bit lighter, and the blade is shorter and made from thinner stock.

Any word on what the handle material will be on the next iteration of the Chaparral?

Titanium. Just not sure whether that means titanium scales over the same steel liners as the current CF version, or an all titanium handle.

Mine arrived today. Just beautiful and exactly as described in Deacon's earlier review. You will not be sorry with this one.

Im such a sucker for twill carbon fiber. but i have one question before i pull triggers. how thin is the blade as compared to the ffg delica?

Chaparral's blade is half a millimeter thinner (2mm compared with 2.5mm for the Delica). Don't have a FFG Delica, so can't compare thickness behind the edge, but the Chaparral is the only production Spyderco I own that's thinner behind the edge than the Caly 3 so I suspect it would be the thinner of the two in that department as well.

Just got two yesterday. A little smaller than I expected but that's not a bad thing. The fit and finish is perfect, the blade is thin and the knife disappears in your pocket. This will make an excellent church or office knife. One thing, the edge on one knife was incredibly sharp but the other had a burr so I had to use a Sharpmaker for about 5 minutes. I bring this up because this is one of the easier knives to sharpen. I hope the edge holds up as well as my other S30V knives. Overall it's a great small knife.
