I've just bought a new Charge after missing my old one i sold . I know ive slated them in the past and i do prefer the Swisstool but it still has a home in my EDC rotation .on the one ive got one of the handles is quite floppy to open , its quite solid and locks open fine its just it doesnt have much resistance when first opening it . This is handy for flipping it open one handed and i have carried it with the pocket clip all day and its stayed shut fine in my pocket so i cant really see a problem . Do any of yours behave this way ?
I think with the leatherman Charge quality control can be a bit his and miss and i dont want to send it in for service only to have it replaced with one with blade or plier play .

On mine, there's a little resistance; in fact, if I pull it open just a half inch or so, it'll spring closed when I release it.

You're saying, this is only on one handle, not the other? That sounds like a fitting issue, to me.

You might consider contacting Leatherman with your concerns. They have always responded quickly and with a complete answer to any of my questions. Terrific customer service.

My Charge Ti wants to spring back closed as I begin to open it. I betcha that there are springs in there. Maybe yours is missing a spring, or has a broken spring, on one side. Once the plier handles are fully opened they easily rotate around the pivot (max open is 1 5/8 inch at the jaws). This makes opening and closing the pliers a one-handed action.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Charge. Please let us know how this plays out.

Best,
