I guess this question is mostly for kodiak but also for anyone else who knows. I was inspired by this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=320884&highlight=mod
and so I bought a kick to use to mod my charge Ti. I haven't taken either apart yet, but playing around with it looks like either the kick blades are too big or else the charge is too small. I tried putting the kick philips in next to the large flat driver and it fits but it is pretty tight. Also, I tried putting the small kick flat driver in next to the charge bit driver and it doesn't fit at all. So what am I missing here? Could it be that Leatherman has changed the width on some of their blades? Perhaps I’ll measure the blades and post them here to compare.

BTW, my ultimate goal was to replace the Charge bit driver with a long Philips and to replace the eyeglass screwdriver with a small flat driver.

I have successfully taken the bit adaptor out of a wave and replaced it with the phillips from a Kick. I also took the long flat screwdriver and replaced the eyeglass screwdrivers on the wave but I had to use a dremel to remove a little bit of the thumb support on the scissors to make it fit but it was an exact fit. I have not tried this on a charge but they appear to be exactly the same except for the handles.

Tsquare, I'm glad to hear that you were able to do this. I took another look, and it does look like it might work even though the flat screwdriver is a little tight. I'm still kind of curious as to how kodiak was able do his mod. Maybe things loosen up a bit with the torx screws? The flat screwdriver from the kick is .094" whereas the eyeglass screwdriver and can opener are .076" and .075". The philips and charge bit driver are exactly the same at .198" so no problems there.

Hi guys! Let me wrap my mind back around this mod and I'll get back to you. I have to go find my Charge.

I used all tools from the kick:

The Large screwdriver is .094 thk.
Next to that is th philips - .200 thk.

Other side is The charge large bit driver .200 thk
next to that is the kicks long 1/8 screw driver - .094 thk.

No washers. It all went together perfectly with no tool thickness modification needed! All tools open and close very smooth. I hope this helps.

Well, it looks like I just need to buy the special screwdriver and go for it. Thanks for the help guys!

It will work out great! Good luck. I love the set up. It really make this tool versatile.

What tool did you use to take apart the Kick? From the pictures I've seen, it doesn't seem to use torx bits.

I'm having difficulty getting the kick apart as well. They must have used some strong locktite on the screws. I tried vicegrips and pliers, but the heads are small and hard to grip.

I tried this on both sides . . .

. . .but this happened.

I think I may have to get in there with the dremel cut-off wheel and just cut the pivots in half. I wonder what tool Leatherman uses to service these.
