I have been carrying leatherman tools for 10+ years and am currently using the wave. I work in electronics and the one tool I always wish it had was a #1 phillips head. I just ordered the charge Ti to remedy this problem and noticed they seemed to have combined the #1 and #2 phillips head on one side of the duel bits. Is it possible to do this? I would have ordered the XTi if I did not need scissors.

I think LM is planning on selling additional bits, but I do not know when. The driver they have must be a #1.5 (or in between #1 and #2). But as you said, there is a specific 1 and 2 on the XTi, so it does exist.
Email leatherman cust-service, they are good about replying. Maybe you could purchase the one you need in an 'extras' kit or something.

I'm going to go with the charge Xti. I can use the Micra for scissors.

The 1.5 is probably right- I will check it out when it comes in. If I end up ordering more bits it is no big deal. Am I the only one that really needs the #1 phillips? This was also my only gripe with the PST and PST II.

The literature for the Charges says that there will be a bit kit available that offers the choice of 42 bits. It might take a while before they come out though.. email them and ask. They usually sell accesories direct thru their website, so maybe you can find out when (I checked and it's not there yet).

funny- I just checked out the PDF spec files on that link for the XTi and Ti and they both showed the same bits including the separate phillips #1 and #2.

Yes, but the pdf's were made months ago (in the dealers section), before the final production/distribution. I would tend to believe the "products" section on the LM website, which is much more recent:

http://www.leatherman.com/products/tools/chargeTi/default.asp
where it clearly says:
'Phillips #1-2 and screwdriver 3/16" '
for the charge Ti
and
' Phillips #1 and #2'
for the charge XTi

The Charge Ti comes with additional bits and one of those is a double sided 1Philips and 2Philips head - problem solved :)
